Physics takes over Valley Fair

The Physics classes went to Valley Fair to find out measurements of rides such as acceleration, height, average speed and more to calculate kinetic energy and other physics concepts from the equations they were provided. Here is what they thought of the experience.

“[The math] isn’t not too bad once you get all of the data. But it’s difficult to get all of the right equations and find out what to plug in,” senior Brandon Niles said.

“I think it’s worth it to get the physics part of it done because we’re here for physics. But as soon as we’re done with all of the physics, we can do whatever we want,” senior Ashton Stelljes said.

“I thought it was really fun. I really enjoyed the Xtreme Swing because it’s exhilarating. It wasn’t long enough so that was the only bad part,” Junior Hannah Hoeger said.

“[The Corkscrew] was super scary because it went upside-down, but it wasn’t very tall so it was a mellow ride,” Senior Allison Schweitzer said.
