As we approach the end of the school year, the topic on everyone’s mind is summer vacation. Summer is the most important time of the year for any student, and you have to make sure to spend it memorably. Some will spend it working to earn a little extra cash, while others will attend various summer camps and go to summer school, and some may even go on vacation with their family. Though they may sound valid, all of these approaches are entirely productive. Summer is no time to be productive; it is a time for laziness and self-satisfaction.
First, you could spend your summer wallowing indoors as your liver slowly begins to eat itself from the mass-consumption of Mountain Dew. With the harsh weather we have in the summer, it is a good decision to stay indoors playing “Call of Duty” and avoiding any form of physical activity. All you really have to do is sit on the couch as your blood absorbs the grease from a half-eaten Big Mac, and slowly develops blockage in the coronary arteries of your heart, making your summer completely worthwhile.
Another great way to spend your summer is to party. Nothing is better than consuming vast amounts of alcohol at a party hosted by someone you would probably never talk to if you met them in the hallway. This experience is further enhanced through a dance with a 23-year-old college student who still hangs out with high schoolers. All things considered, partying is a surefire way to spice up your summer and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Finally, you could spend your summer attempting to become friends with people you barely know. Sending texts to people whose number you got off Facebook, asking them if they want to go out for coffee sometime, or maybe just hanging out can be a great way to meet new people, and doesn’t make you look like a stalker. Be assured, this is not creepy or weird, and is actually one of the best ways to make new friends.
No matter how you decide to spend your summer, make sure to spend it in the least productive and least memorable way. After all, that is the true meaning of summer vacation.
