Sunday Special: Spooktacular Party 2014

More than 40 National Honors Society (NHS) members dressed in their finest costumes five days ahead of Halloween to volunteer at West Fargo VFW Post 7564 and West Fargo Park District’s annual Spooktacular Party. They led children through a haunted maze, helped them conduct experiments in the mad scientist lab, painted faces and decorated cookies.
Junior Megan Larson was especially excited to attend the Spooktacular Party, as it was her first time volunteering at an NHS event.
“It was really good, my favorite part was interacting with the kids,” Larson said.
Senior Shalini Sakhamuri also appreciated the fun atmosphere the kids created at the event.
“It was amazing and the kids all enjoyed it,” Sakhamuri said. “I am definitely glad I signed up because every single time a kid passed me, they were always smiling. “
