Boys Soccer Banquet

On Monday Oct. 27, the boy’s soccer team celebrated the end of their season with a banquet. The ceremony began with the distribution of participation certificates for each member and was eagerly followed by a dinner. Shortly after, Coach James Moe announced the voted upon awards for the players who, in their opinion, gave their best efforts throughout the season. Graduating members of the team gave heartfelt speeches thanking their team, coaches and family. The awards distributed throughout the night are listed below.

Most Valuable Player – Akeem Smith

Rookie of the Year – Noah Schaeffer

Most Improved – Zach Burtsfield

Offensive Player of the Year – Akeem Smith

Defensive Player of the Year – Christian Engum

Hardest Worker (2) – Ben Prochniak, Amin Ahmed

Mike Kihle Award – Matt Schmidt

Coaches’ Award – Ben Spaeth

All-EDC – Christian Engum. Mason Wikstrom, Jacques Neengetere, Matt Schmidt, Akeem Smith

All-State 1st Team – Akeem Smith

All-State 2nd Team – Matt Schmidt, Jacques Neengetere

State All Tournament Team – Akeem Smith, Ben Prochniak
