State Orchestra 2015

State orchestra contest this year was held at Valley State University on April 24. Several ensemble groups and soloists were in attendance. Prior to this event, the students had to have received a star rating for their performance at EDC orchestra.
Senior Natalie Shea enjoyed playing her piece to the judges and audience. The piece she played had more of an emotional tone rather than being heavily concentrated on the technique behind the music.
“I like how it’s so expressive and it shifts up so high,” Shea said.
Along with Shea, there were other groups trying to hear the sound and quality of their music in the crowded practice rooms. The practice and tuning rooms were actually classrooms filled with desks. The difficulties did not stop West Fargo musicians and all other students from performing their music.
