Weekly Wednesday: Packcakes bring positivity to finals

The commons were decked out in white and green balloons while the song “Free Pancakes,” a parody of “Free Falling” by Tom Petty,  filled the room as students were treated to Packer pancakes, or Packcakes, by the staff.

Counselor Kristi Nigg had high hopes for the Packcakes and their positive effect on students.

“Look at the energy in the commons right now, it’s awesome,” Nigg said. “This is all about school spirit, I couldn’t be happier and we hope to do it every year.”

Junior Brianna Rivenes appreciated the effort the staff put into the event.

“I think it’s kind of cool how it’s all decorated and the pancakes are pretty good,” Rivenes said. “It’s kind of weird seeing teachers serving pancakes but I like it.”

Intern counselor Kari Swoboda thought the event benefitted both students and teachers.

“I got to actually meet a ton of new students and the atmosphere is so positive,” Swoboda said. “I think this is a great event and the kids really enjoyed it as well.”
